The Junior Hockey Committee was created in 2010.

Commemoration Committee

Created in October of 2010, this committee evaluates and recommends individuals or sites of significance to hockey history deemed worthy of recognition.

Origins of Hockey Committee

The committee was formed following a resolution of the SIHR annual meeting, May 19, 2001. The committee's task was to examine the claim that Windsor, Nova Scotia, is the birthplace of hockey. The committee's mandate was recently redefined to describe the difference between organized hockey and non-organized hockey and define precisely the conditions that are sufficient and necessary to describe an activity as "hockey".
